There comes a point in the career of most musicians where someone will compile an unbelievable amount of stuff in a box and market it to the salivating masses for some outrageous price. And we, like idiots, will go and drop the money for material that has never been commercially available before, so we can show it off to other people.
This past week Columbia Records released a massive Miles Davis retrospective box set. It includes all 52 of the albums he recorded for Columbia on 70 CDs, the CDs are even designed to look like miniature vinyls, along with a

Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones. And that does it for this week’s review.
No, I’m teasing, but if those names don’t get you motivated to pick up this record, then I don’t know what is wrong with you. Starting out as a jam session, Homme providing guitar and vocals, Grohl handling drums and Jones playing bass and other keyboards, the guys tried this out at a few festivals over the summer. The collaboration dates back to 2005 and came into fruition over the past year. (more...)

DVD Review: Kings of Leon, Live at the O2, London, England
by J Frazzetta November 16th, 2009 | Concert Review, Retail Music
“Why not London?” asked Caleb Followill to the sold out crowd during the June 30th show this past summer, and why not London? Considering England embraced these bearded Southern gents when their first album came out this is a thank you to the people that propelled them into the status they are in now. Nothing says thanks like filming a live DVD in front one of the biggest crowds they ever played, if you don’t count the Glastonbury Festival from the previous summer.

Album Review: Weezer, Raditude, 11/3/09
by J Frazzetta November 9th, 2009 | Album Review
Earlier this summer Rivers Cuomo, of Weezer, and Rainn Wilson, known as Dwight Schrute to some, were working on some stuff, and Rainn suggested names for Weezer’s new album. Of all the suggestions he gave, Raditude stuck the best with Rivers.
Rivers is 39- I know! - I still think he’s 28, and he looks it. Despite his age and looks, Rivers and company have managed to craft an album of pop hooks and party nods. Gone are the days of true longing and morose feelings, Rivers is married and has a daughter now, you can’t keep writing depressing ballads forever.

Rock (band) Radio
by J Frazzetta November 2nd, 2009 | Music Opinions
Alex Chilton is best known for performing with The Box Tops back in the 60s, their song “The Letter” is pretty recognizable on any oldies radio station. However, many have felt his influence throughout the course of music history, including The Replacements. They penned a song, titled “Alex Chilton”, in direct tribute to one of their heroes. Up until I bought Rock Band 2 for the Xbox in August, I had no idea such a song existed or who Alex Chilton actually was in relation to the world. Within the last week I heard “Alex Chilton” on the airwaves, and
