Muse Blows a Fuse

March 18th, 2010 Posted by Bea
Last weekend Muse came to Boston and put on an absolutely phenomenal show. I originally had thought that my seats were pretty bad ones. I was seated so that I pretty much had a view of the back of the stage and set; however, when I paid the price that I did for those tickets I knew what I was getting myself into. I had no expectations for fantastic seats, I just wanted to listen and watch a great show. Well, Muse exceeded all of my expectations. Not only that, but they had the Silversun Pickups open for them-- can we...

“It’s not that I don’t like you, I’m just at a par-tayy”

This past Thursday, the world watched as the E! channel premiered Lady Gaga’s new video for her single “Telephone.” In my personal opinion, it was not what I expected at all (from the standpoint that it was weirder than normal for Lady Gaga). The nine and a half minute video featured Lady Gaga and Beyonce (referred to as Gaga and Honey B in the video) as two women on a mission to wreak havoc! Notorious B.I.G.- 13 Years and Still Remembered

March 12th, 2010 Posted by Jenn McD.
It seems hard to believe that it has been 13 years since the death of Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G. Tuesday, March 9 marked the anniversary of his tragic death.  At the time, I was only 8 years old, but I remember the impact it made on the music industry. Much like Michael Jackson impacted pop music, Biggie had a major influence on the styles of hip hop MCs during the 1990s, as well as current artists today who continue to strive for the greatness that Biggie achieved. A native of Brooklyn, NYC, Biggie grew up during the times...

March 11th, 2010 Posted by J Frazzetta
The follow up you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived.  In 2000 when the Gorillaz hit the scene, myself, like many others, had no idea what to make of them: a bunch of cartoons with the guy from Blur doing vocals, weird.  Then in 2005 Demon Days landed and everything I thought about this band changed.  Where Demon Days was a dark, album blending in a ton of music styles and guests, Plastic Beach keeps the blend but moves the party along. Guests for this album include: Snoop Dogg, Kano, Bobby Womack, Mos Def, Gruff Rhys, De La Soul, Little...

John Mayer Winter Tour 2010

March 4th, 2010 Posted by Bea
He is no Dave Matthews or Jimi Hendrix and the way he deals with relationships is also unattractive, but I must admit that he is a very talented musician. Who? John Mayer. I will admit it, I used to not like his music. I thought a lot of it sounded the same and that it was not too interesting. However, as I listened to more and more of his tunes, I grew to like him more. One of his best albums is Try! by the John Mayer Trio. This Trio includes Steve Jordan, Pino Palladino, and John Mayer, and they...
