The whole rock and rap genre of music has always interested me. It's no surprise, then, that the pop and rap genre is equally as fascinating to me. As I said in one of my previous posts, I'd spent a week in Canada just a little bit ago, and I'd needed to burn some CDs for the road trip. As the vehicle belonged to my lovely girlfriend, I wound up burning mostly stuff that she requested.
Enter Ke$ha's album "Animal." Perhaps it's because I listened to it almost three times in a row on the way up to and on
Ed Kowalczyk, Royale, Boston, 10/2/10
by J Frazzetta October 26th, 2010 | Concert Review
I hadn’t been to a show this small in a long time. Having never been to the Royale, formerly the Roxy, this reminded me of seeing a small show in college where the fans and performers are right next to each other. Heading down with a group of friends for a weekend in the city, I was pumped for this show. Shortly after I had seen Live and Candlebox at Meadowbrook in 2009, Live broke up and Ed Kowalczyk struck out for a solo career. The remaining members of Live joined forces with Candlebox to create The Gracious Few
Everything is Worth Listening To

This past week I was in Canada for my girlfriend's brother's wedding. I was chatting with the bride's brother, doing the whole "getting to know you" bit, when he asked the question "so what kind of music are you into?" I answered "oh, hard rock and metal," which isn't actually correct, although those are two of my favorite genres. I realized then that it was just that easy to pigeonhole one's self into listening to one certain range of music.
The truth is, I'm a fan of all kinds of music. My favorite rock groups range from Nirvana to AC/DC

Kings of Leon, Come Around Sunset, 10/19/10
by J Frazzetta October 19th, 2010 | Album Review, New Music
I’m going to pretend Only by the Night didn’t come out and that instead Come Around Sunset is the follow up to Because of the Times. I have been paying attention to Kings of Leon since their first album came out and I was starting to lose some hope with their last release. The first three albums by the Followill boys are great, filled with excellent riffs, great song writing and some impressive stories to share. Then, like every band, they had to ‘break the mainstream’ and pumped out an album of catchy pop with a little experimentation but it
Michael Bublé- Crazy Love
by Michele October 14th, 2010 | Album Review
I have to confess that I don't buy many albums, which I am sure is to the chagrin of other authors on this site. . . and I can't even claim that I'm a kid and don't know better. I am an adult who just has done the math and figured that buying one or two songs that I know I like and adding them to my iPod is a better economic decision than buying an album that I might dislike. However, there are a few artists with which I take that monetary risk and buy their cd.
