Bad Meets Evil: Re-Emerging Through Hellfire

You may remember a little duo crafted from hip hop naturals Eminem and Royce da 5'9" called Bad Meets Evil. Then again, you may very well not. It's been 12 years since the duo worked together, their previous musical projects being the songs "Nuttin' to Do" and "Scary Movies" off of the single Nuttin' to Do.

Royce da 5'9" and Eminem's "Bad and Evil" friendship began in 1997 when they were introduced to each other at a show by Royce's then manager. A few years later, an altercation between Royce and longtime friends of Eminem, D12, would lead

The White House Band’s Stimulus Package: Get Money

So I offered to have a listen to an EP for review from the Brooklyn-based White House Band (not to be confused with these jokers). Their EP, titled The Stimulus Package, was released in February of this year to critical acclaim. This 3-piece band blends hip hop and rock stylings with clever rhymes to produce something that is pretty unique.

The album is a six track EP and begins with the explosive "Wasup! - The Album Version," which blends hip hop melodies with electronic funk – it's a great opener. The next song, "Groun-Ups" is standard rap-rock fare

The reason for this, Eminem has claimed, is that he wanted to create "radio-friendly" songs in the hopes of getting airplay. When compared to The

Drake

June 15th, 2010 by Bea | Artist Review, Emerging Artists, Hip Hop
In the past few years Drake has become one of the hottest rappers. To tell you the truth, I had no clue who he was until a few weeks ago, but I have been listening to Kiss 108, "Boston's Hit Music Station", recently and they keep telling their listeners all about him.

So, who is he? Born Aubrey Drake Graham on October 24, 1986, Drake is a Canadian actor and recording artist. Drake had officially signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment record label back in June of 2009. He was supposed to release his newest album back in 2009, but

Notorious B.I.G.- 13 Years and Still Remembered

March 12th, 2010 by Jenn McD. | Hip Hop
It seems hard to believe that it has been 13 years since the death of Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G. Tuesday, March 9 marked the anniversary of his tragic death.  At the time, I was only 8 years old, but I remember the impact it made on the music industry. Much like Michael Jackson impacted pop music, Biggie had a major influence on the styles of hip hop MCs during the 1990s, as well as current artists today who continue to strive for the greatness that Biggie achieved.

A native of Brooklyn, NYC, Biggie grew up during the times
