Earthfest 2011, DCR Hatch Shell, Boston, 5/21/2011

Rather than sit at home and worry about The Rapture, I decided to head back to Boston to check out the 18th annual Earthfest.  It was such a nice day, I wasn’t going to judge, and I hadn’t seen the sun in so long I forgot what it was like to wear shorts.  Meeting up with some friends, we made the trek down.  This year’s lineup: up and comers Atomic Tom, 90’s rockers Sponge, video innovators OK Go and Live’s lead singer Ed Kowalczyk.

Winter is going away, and spring is making itself known.  With better weather in the future, it's time to make plans that can't be canceled due to snowstorms and icy roads.  If you're looking for an event of the musical kind, you've come to the right spot.  We have a list of some of the best spring music festivals taking place from west to east coast.  Check them out:

Noel Gallagher Is Going Solo

After quiting Oasis following a big fight with his brother Liam in August last year, Noel Gallagher is going solo. It can be remembered that Gallagher had written on Oasis' website in August that he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer". Now he has just announced his first solo concerts. He will be performing in two of the Teenage Cancer Trust’s annual charity concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall on March 25 and 26. This will be the former Oasis guitarist's fifth time to be featured in the Teenage Cancer Trust’s annual charity

Indie Thursdays


October 1 at The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa in Hollywood, California.  This showcase has 5-6 independent artists or bands who compete to earn a spot as the Artist of the Month for the remaining Indie Thursdays throughout the month.

International Bluegrass Festival

October 1-3 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.  Started in 1996, this is a festival where international and national players can perform.
