Cee-Lo Green, The Lady Killer, 11/9/10

November 9th, 2010 by J Frazzetta | Album Review, New Music
Ladies beware: Cee-Lo Green has a license to kill and he isn’t talking about spy operatives either.  His mission, and he chose to accept it, is to seduce women with his sultry voice, break hearts and pick up where Marvin Gaye left off.  Do not base this album off of the lead single, you’ll be surprised to find a guy singing about romance with women but also a longing to really find a connection with someone out in the world.

If you are looking for expletive riddled songs about sex, drugs and other naughty things, don’t bother picking up this

Kings of Leon, Come Around Sunset, 10/19/10

October 19th, 2010 by J Frazzetta | Album Review, New Music
I’m going to pretend Only by the Night didn’t come out and that instead Come Around Sunset is the follow up to Because of the Times.  I have been paying attention to Kings of Leon since their first album came out and I was starting to lose some hope with their last release.  The first three albums by the Followill boys are great, filled with excellent riffs, great song writing and some impressive stories to share.  Then, like every band, they had to ‘break the mainstream’ and pumped out an album of catchy pop with a little experimentation but it

Weezer, Hurley, 9/14/10

September 21st, 2010 by J Frazzetta | Album Review, New Music
Trust me, this is not a retrospective on the show Lost. I wouldn’t exert myself to bore you like that.  No, this is a review of the new Weezer album that happens to be named Hurley.  Believe me, this has nothing to do with the show at all, thank goodness.  I have to give credit to Rivers Cuomo and company for knocking out an album every year since 2008 and making up for their lack of production in the 90’s.

With that said, this album seems to be keeping with the same mentality the last few albums have had: retrospection.

Th**k You, Cee Lo Green

Have you ever been a relationship that ended and, before your tissues dry, you see that ex-flame with a new piece of arm candy?  You know that feeling: the couple really looks happy and in some weird way you feel happy for them but you are too upset to admit it. How do you express these feelings?  For anyone that thought soul music and R&B were dead, well, Cee Lo Green has two words for you: f*** you.

Those two words are not only the best way to express your feelings in the scenario above, they are also the title

Eminem’s “Recovery”

July 1st, 2010 by Bea | Album Review, Artist Review, New Music
Well, Eminem has come out with yet another album.  I believe that this is his seventh studio album and it is another success! I actually had no clue that he has come out with so many albums until recently, but it does make sense. He has been a stable artist and has continued (minus a 3-year hiatus between 2006-2009) to have a presence in the music world ever since I started listening to music; this is something I will commend him for because he is not someone who went big and then went home.

Recovery, which followed Relapse and was
