American music videos often choose violence over sex. We favor it, in this country. In Europe it's rare to see a music video without some nudity. Here, it's rare to see one without blood.

That's a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea.

I should point out, the picture I used is from a previous CAKE show when they performed at the Hatch Shell in Boston a few years back. Friday's performance was pretty dark and I couldn't get a good picture. There is always next time.

Great choices Fizz. One of favorite Flamming Lips tunes. Even the Hootie tune is appropriate. They actually did a decent Zeppelin cover, they had a few alright moments. More than Creed ever did.

There are many ways to discover new music on Grooveshark. In my opinion, simply choosing the "Popular" category will list many new songs. Also, Grooveshark has a program that specifically helps new bands promote themselves and share their music.
By the way, Grooveshark has been using the "Heart" system for years. Their toolbar also allows you to add a particular song to any one of your many self-created playlists (up to 100 per playlist, I think, for the free version - no registration required), as well as, skipping, repeating, and shuffling the song list you are playing, including Grooveshark Radio, which can be genre speific.
Also, you can 'scrobble' your favorites to your Last.FM profile.
In my opinion, the real adventure is going on at Grooveshark, not that I won't give thesixtyone a chance.
Thanks!

I'm pretty upset I wasn't able to go to this show, I was out of town. It would have been my 4th time seeing them. My friend is a big fan and this was his 10th show, he was about 8 rows up on the floor. I saw them in 2004 at Axis and Avalon (R.I.P.), then in 2006 at the Bank of America Pavilion. I have yet to see their full on light spectacle, but I may have a chance this fall if they swing around again. Glad you enjoyed the show.

It is true, those of us that long of the days of going through record store stacks are dying out fast. This is a cool feature I'll have to look at more. Still, I like hunting for an album and finding it in a bin a lot more than clicking for it on the Web. We are a dying breed.
