There’s no denying that Beyoncé is as hot as (if not hotter than) ever. She took home six Grammys in one night this year at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Six awards is a record for women in the 52-year history of the show. Her wins included Song Of The Year (for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for “Halo”), Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Contemporary R&B Album. She started the night in a good position, with 10 nominations, including one for Album of the Year (which led to the Kanye vs. Taylor Swift incident)
Yet, this isn’t the first time that Beyoncé has come back from the Grammys decorated with trophies. In 2004, she won 5 Grammys, tying with Alicia Keys, Norah Jones and Lauryn Hill for the most Grammys in one night by a female artist (at the time). Her debut solo album from 2003, Dangerously in Love, included “Crazy in Love,” which earned Beyoncé two of her awards: best R&B song and best rap/sung collaboration. Interestingly enough, Beyoncé’s then-boyfriend, now-husband Jay-Z, had collaborated with her on “Crazy in Love,” earning 2 Grammys as well. Beyoncé also won best female R&B performance for “Dangerously in Love” and best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals for “The Closer I Get To You.”
Additionally, we can’t forget Beyoncé’s era from 1997-2001 as a member of Destiny’s Child, of which Beyoncé was the lead singer. Working with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Beyoncé began her career in female R&B. Their best-selling album, The Writing’s on the Wall, included the number-one singles “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Say My Name”. Together, they won three Grammys, part of Beyoncé‘s total of 16.
Then, of course, we’re also starting to see her on the movie screen, such as in the movies Dreamgirls, based on the 1981 Broadway musical, and Obsessed (which definitely might have fared better with more of Beyoncé in it). At 28, Beyoncé is considered as a singer-songwriter, record producer, actress, dancer, choreographer, model, and video director. Is there anything she doesn’t do?
