Stay Together for the Fans

Nothing gets fans more excited than hearing their favorite band finally is getting back together and hitting the road. Well, this year I’m a little less than excited to announce that Creed is reportedly getting back together to hit the road and tour.

If you haven’t heard about it, it really doesn’t shock me. With bands like Nickelback, Alter Bridge, and Creed, minus Scott Stapp, putting out average sounding arena rock, where does Creed fit in? I think Stapp is doing this (the reunion) because he knows he’d never make it as: 1- a rapper and 2- the next Jim Morrison. Remember when he self-proclaimed that he was Morrison reincarnated? Yeah, that’s when I stopped caring about them, too.

Don’t feel too badly, though. Other bands reportedly are getting back together or just planning on touring this year, too. Stone Temple Pilots are planning on a new album and proper tour, while Rage Against the Machine is looking to play more dates in 2009 as well. As far as Led Zeppelin is concerned, (Funny you should ask) with Robert Plant doing so well with Allison Krauss, the rest of Zeppelin was thinking of asking Alter Bridge’s singer Myles Kennedy if he would like to do vocals. Which brings us to why Creed would be getting back together.  Come on, if Zeppelin asked you to possibly tour with them, you’d drop everything and go, too.

I have my hopes up for Rage, but I’m still looking for a Soundgarden reunion. Chris Cornell isn’t doing much, and Matt Cameron could leave Pearl Jam for a bit. I think finding Kim Thayil and Ben Shepherd may be tougher. If the Pixies could put their differences aside, then I think Soundgarden should be able to as well.
