It's a sad week for this Baltimore Ravens fan, but hey, I've still got my Natty Boh and Old Bay to keep me happy. The New England Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens to gain entry to the Super Bowl. Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff will eventually become a transgendered police chief and will attempt to murder an eccentric pet detective, but for some reason, people are hung up over Steven Tyler's performance of the "Star-Spangled Banner" (video). Such a strange world.

American Idols: Where Are They Now?
American Idol has wrapped up its 10th season. Tenth! I can't believe I started watching that show a decade ago. (No comment on how consistently I've watched it since then.) Some of the past American Idol Winners have gone on to claim much fame. Perhaps the best example is Kelly Clarkson, the winner of the very first season of American Idol. Meanwhile, other names fade away as the years pass. Kris Allen may or may not ring a bell, even though he was the winner of the somewhat more recent Season 8. Where are they now? Let's take a look
Is It Safer by the Shore?
A while back you might recall that I reviewed a band called Mugshot who have made a name for themselves in New Hampshire as being a great cover band on any given night. While Mugshot is still plugging away each weekend, their vocalist/guitarist Brien Sweet is also making tunes under the name Safer by the Shore. True, playing covers can be a lot of fun and gives you some flexibility to stretch out and show off a bit -- but creating your own material has rewards as well.

PJ 20, OST, 2011
This is not a greatest hits album; if that is what you are looking for then I suggest you try Rearviewmirror. This might not be for casual listeners as some of the tunes come from Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog, Mookie Blaylock and the dreaded mid-period albums; you won’t find "Evenflow" or "Jeremy" lurking in the shadows. Recall my colleague Jason talked about the Cameron Crowe movie (and Dogfish Head's beer); this is the soundtrack from the film. What will you find? Demos, live tracks and something that is achieved when a band has
