Tool, TD Garden, 1/28/2012
"Even at 50; he still breaks drumheads" said Tool’s vocalist Maynard James Keenan in reference to Danny Carey’s intense style of play after their first song. This was my fourth Tool show since 2001 and I find it amazing that the four members of the band are between 45-50 years old and manage to play as hard as they do. Consistency, the fact they don’t tour as often as many other bands do and haven’t put out new material since 2006 is what brings me back. This tour was announced a little over a month ago and many of
Steven Tyler Cracked Voice – I Don’t Care
It's a sad week for this Baltimore Ravens fan, but hey, I've still got my Natty Boh and Old Bay to keep me happy. The New England Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens to gain entry to the Super Bowl. Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff will eventually become a transgendered police chief and will attempt to murder an eccentric pet detective, but for some reason, people are hung up over Steven Tyler's performance of the "Star-Spangled Banner" (video). Such a strange world.

American Idols: Where Are They Now?
American Idol has wrapped up its 10th season. Tenth! I can't believe I started watching that show a decade ago. (No comment on how consistently I've watched it since then.) Some of the past American Idol Winners have gone on to claim much fame. Perhaps the best example is Kelly Clarkson, the winner of the very first season of American Idol. Meanwhile, other names fade away as the years pass. Kris Allen may or may not ring a bell, even though he was the winner of the somewhat more recent Season 8. Where are they now? Let's take a look
15-Year-Old Korean Girl Stuns on KPop Star
I'd like to take a moment and state right off the bat that I loathe reality music shows. They're irritating to no end, they cheapen the feel of music, and it's just awful television. All of this is my opinion, of course. If you happen to get some sort of delight from watching a pompous, British record producer tear people down for no real reason other than it being in his nature, then fine. I personally find it stupid.
That being said, I saw something recently that had me in awe. A 15-year-old South Korean girl named Park Ji Min,

Picking Up Where You Left Off
Know what's great about being in a newly formed band? Your first technical difficulty during a live show and the sweet taste of victory when it gets sorted out and you continue rockin'.
So there we were, at a local duckpin bowling alley, in the middle of our cover of "Ball and Chain" by Social Distortion when suddenly large amounts of static noise coursed through our lines and filled our PA speakers with the shrill cry of electrons making sweet, sweet love. Prior to this event, there had been a bit of static noise in different moments which I'd originally
