For a few years I worked as an aide at a high school. Graduation was a tough time for some students and joyous for others. I would make mix CDs for some students to help them get through and prepare for the next step. Steering clear of Third Eye Blind, or Vitamin C, I found tunes that had some real meaning and could speak to the students. Here is 2010’s mix:

As the first decade of the new millennium is coming to a close we can look forward to one thing: those annoying lists critics compile to discuss the most important work that has been released of the decade that has passed. These lists can be funny, serious or downright stupid. Critics are looking for albums that will have a serious impact on the way music is created in the future.
